Growing up in a traditional Black Christian household. Easter really only meant five things: we were going to wake up extra early for church, there would be candy and eggs in a basket waiting for us, new church clothes for my sister and me, a big dinner was to follow, and the preacher was sure to shout loudly “he died, but he got up on the third day with all power in his hands!”.
